Eureka Encounter

An “insitainment” (i.e. insightful and entertaining) program organized on 1st January of every year by the Lesedi Foundation [particularly] for the youth to have fun and learn from transformed and accomplished persons who share their experiences and give strategic advice. This is meant to be a memorable occasion for participants, provide encouragement and focus for life and shun social vices. It also kick-starts mentoring of the youth.

Easter Fiesta

It's an annual fair held during the period of Easter at the countryside. Activities include J Boutiques, health screening, provision of food and motivational speeches. The Lesedi Foundation organises these activities in deprived communities. It is designed to be a memorable occasion for the neighbourhoods and also kick-start counselling in areas such as HIV, teenage pregnancy, education etc.

The One Portrait

'The One Portrait’ (TOP)The One Portrait [a collaboration with Steven Adusei Photography] is a major programme of the Lesedi Foundation which is aimed at transforming lives. It is designed to present a pictorial transformation of individuals. It involves a careful selection of disadvantaged individuals who are given the opportunity to be transformed in their looks and appearance through special make-up.  Pictures are taken before and after to show a contrast of what they looked like and what they could become.  Subsequently they are counselled in their areas of interest and aspirations. The aim is to help the selected individuals believe in their capabilities and guide them toward understanding their unique identity and purpose in life and help them to focus on their purpose.

J-Boutique

J-Boutique is a Free Clothing and Household Items Fair which The Lesedi Foundation organises in deprived communities. The items are displayed and community-members are allowed to freely select their needs. The whole programme is supervised by volunteers to avoid the situation where a few people will deprive others from benefitting.

Primary Healthcare Service

A primary healthcare service : A primary healthcare service is also provided where a medical team tests for HIV, hepatitis B, high blood pressure, sugar etc. and provides counselling to needy individuals.
The Lesedi Foundation organises these activities in deprived communities which is meant to be a memorable occasion for the neighbourhoods and also kick-start counselling in areas such as HIV, teenage pregnancy, education etc. The Foundation also provides Christmas gifts to widows and the very needy. Items include rice, drinks, biscuits, chicken / fish, cooking oil, cloth / clothes (where needed) etc.

Family Matters Network

Family Matters Network : The Foundation recognises that the family is the basic unit of every society and thus the “overall health” of families reflects the status of the entire community and society. As a recent addition to the Foundation’s work, the Family Matters Network (FMN) is setup to prevent a lot of the issues [that give rise to delinquency particularly among the youth] that Lesedi deals with. It is setup to restore the health, glory and blessing of families. The Network which is made up of couples, deals with marriages, relationships between spouses, parents and children, peer to peer, etc. It also deals with issues such as single-parenting, widowhood among others. It is all about having healthy relationships in the family. FMN is the Foundation’s only programme where registration is required for participation. This helps to ensure progress in improving relationships.

Save The Community’ (STC)

 Save The Community’ (STC) Project,  :It is setup to help delinquent youth engaged in vices such as prostitution, addiction etc. to reform, rehabilitate and help them to focus and succeed in life. It is also to work with children, support and give them focus at an early age to reduce waywardness.
