'The One Portrait’ (TOP)The One Portrait [a collaboration with Steven Adusei Photography] is a major programme of the Lesedi Foundation which is aimed at transforming lives. It is designed to present a pictorial transformation of individuals. It involves a careful selection of disadvantaged individuals who are given the opportunity to be transformed in their looks and appearance through special make-up. Pictures are taken before and after to show a contrast of what they looked like and what they could become. Subsequently they are counselled in their areas of interest and aspirations. The aim is to help the selected individuals believe in their capabilities and guide them toward understanding their unique identity and purpose in life and help them to focus on their purpose.
J-Boutique is a Free Clothing and Household Items Fair which The Lesedi Foundation organises in deprived communities. The items are displayed and community-members are allowed to freely select their needs.
